AutographPP

The Certificate of Authenticity is Dead.

Paper COAs are forged in minutes. Stickers are peeled and swapped. AutographPP creates an immutable digital passport linking the physical item to its absolute provenance.

We don't do 'blockchain buzzwords'. We do photographic evidence, baseline comparative analysis, and rigorous chain of custody.

01. Baseline Isolation

Every signature has speed, pressure, and flow. We isolate these metrics from standard high-res scans, completely bypassing the human bias of traditional authenticators.

02. Micro-Defect Mapping

The item itself is the fingerprint. We map weave patterns in jerseys, paper grain in documents, and microscopic ink bleed to ensure the item cannot be swapped.

03. Immutable Provenance

A cryptographically signed, timestamped ledger of ownership and physical location. If it's not documented here, it didn't happen.

The AutographPP Ledger

Cryptographic Hash + 4K Macro Photography + Notarized Custody

The anatomy of a real digital passport.

A sticker with a serial number is useless. A true digital passport requires triangulation of data points that cannot be replicated simultaneously.

  • A
Macro-Photography Hashing We require 3 macro shots of specific, high-friction areas of the signature.
  • B
UV Reactive Logging Mandatory UV scan to detect modern ink on vintage paper stock.
  • C
Legal Custody Chain Transfer of ownership requires bilateral digital signing.

The Physical Vulnerability

Ink fades under UV light. Paper acidic content turns pages yellow and brittle. Holograms delaminate. The physical item is in a constant state of decay.

  • Average sharpie lifespan on baseballs: 12-15 years before bleeding.
  • Standard framing blocks less than 40% of harmful UV rays.
  • Humidity fluctuations destroy paper fibers over decades.

The Digital Permanence

A high-resolution, cryptographically signed digital record is immune to environment. It serves as the baseline to measure physical decay against.

  • Distributed ledger technology prevents unauthorized alterations.
  • Timestamped macro-photography establishes condition exactly at time of authentication.
  • Bilateral transfer protocols maintain legal chain of custody.

Case Study 042

The Forged '72 Contract

How micro-defect mapping caught a $45,000 fraud before auction.

A seemingly flawless contract arrived at a major auction house. Traditional authenticators cleared the signature structure. AutographPP's digital baseline flagged a critical error: the ink pooling at the end of the stroke indicated a modern gel pen, not the ballpoint standard of 1972.

Read full breakdown

Ink tells the truth. Paper lies.

Iron Gall

Corrosive over time. Bites into parchment. Impossible to cleanly lift.

India Ink

Carbon-based. Highly stable. Sits on surface. Prone to flaking.

Ballpoint (Pre-1960)

Oil-based. Specific gooping patterns at directional changes.

Modern Sharpie

Solvent-based. Rapid fading under UV. Aggressive bleeding on fibrous paper.

Hard Truths (FAQ)

Does this replace traditional authenticators?

No. It replaces the easily forged *output* of traditional authenticators (the paper COA). The expert opinion is still valid; the way that opinion is recorded and transferred must be modernized.

What if the physical item is destroyed?

The digital passport remains as immutable proof of the item's existence and condition at a specific time, crucial for insurance claims.

Can the ledger be hacked?

The ledger relies on standard cryptographic hashing (SHA-256). To 'hack' it requires breaking fundamental cryptography, not just a database password.

"In a market where provenance is everything, relying on a printed piece of paper that costs three cents to forge is structural negligence."
