Fading Prevention

UV light breaks down the molecular bonds in ink pigments. Sharpies are highly susceptible; vintage iron gall is slightly more resilient, but all will eventually disappear if exposed.

Use our Lux Exposure Calculator to determine display limits. Always use museum glass (99% UV blocking) when framing, but remember that visible light also causes fading.
